PHOTOS: New SeaBase Aquarium Sign Added to The Seas With Nemo & Friends Pavilion
While The Seas With Nemo & Friends is a cute attraction, the heart of EPCOT’s Seas pavilion has always been SeaBase Alpha.
When The Living Seas initially opened its doors in 1986, the pavilion boasted the largest indoor aquarium in the world. Although it has since ceded that title, the Seas has continued to house its massive aquarium and educational module for nearly four decades.
Like most of the classic EPCOT Center pavilions, The Living Seas was designed to be a holistic experience. The adventure started with a preshow video (“and they rain…and rain…and rain. The deluge.”), continued with a Hydrolator trip and a voyage through the pavilion’s aquarium, and ended with the arrival at SeaBase Alpha.

Since the early 2000s, the connective tissue that once held The Seas together has frayed. Now, the Seas With Nemo & Friends attraction and the SeaBase exhibits are primarily viewed as separate experiences.
A New SeaBase Aquarium Sign Has Arrived
With that in mind, Disney has made a change to The Seas pavilion. For the first time in the structure’s history, a sign advertising the SeaBase Aquarium has been added.

Now, guests who may want to forgo the Nemo attraction and head straight for the aquarium and its educational exhibits know where to enter the pavilion.

Over the last several months, we have seen numerous minor improvements to The Seas With Nemo & Friends. The pavilion has never looked better!
