The Car That Once Transported Barbie Around EPCOT’s World Showcase Is Heading to Auction
If you grew up going to Walt Disney World in the 1990s, you know that the resort hosted several characters from outside of the Disney bubble.
For example, at the Disney-MGM Studios, guests could meet the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Sometimes, April O’Neil would even join them.
Even more surprising was the Tom and Jerry meet and greet that once called the Studios home.

Other startling character appearances included Dick Tracy, the Power Rangers, and Ace Ventura. It was indeed a strange time in Disney World history.
The Magical World of Barbie
Meanwhile, over at EPCOT, there was The Magical World of Barbie. A collaboration between Disney and Mattel, the stage show was created to celebrate Barbie’s 35th anniversary.

To transport Barbie through EPCOT, Disney transformed the 1970 Cadillac DeVille, originally used as a parade vehicle for Cruella de Ville, into Barbie’s car.

Later, the vehicle was reportedly used to carry Miss Piggy in the Stars and Motor Cars parade at the Disney-MGM Studios.
The Car Is Heading to Auction
For years, the former Walt Disney World vehicle has been housed at the Volo Museum in Volo, Illinois. Now, however, it is heading to auction!
The iconic piece of Disney World history will be listed on eBay for a seven-day auction that will begin tomorrow.

“Unlike many display vehicles whose backstories rely on hearsay or speculation, this car’s exceptional history is fully supported by official documents, including: Original Florida registration listing Walt Disney World as the owner, with matching VIN,” the listing states.
So, if you have dreamed of owning your very own Barbie car, now is your chance!
