Disney Licensed Products Led the Industry With $63 Billion in Sales
License Global has released its 2025 Top Global Licensors report, and once again, Disney came out as the big winner.
According to the publication, total retail sales of licensed products rose to $307.9 billion last year, a 10% increase from 2023.

Of that total, Disney was responsible for just over 20% of the sales with $63 billion.
The Top Ten Brands
Rounding out the top 10 were Authentic Brands Group ($32 billion), Dotdash Meredith ($26.7 billion), NBCUniversal ($17 billion), Hasbro ($16.1 billion), Warner Bros. Discovery ($15 billion), the Pokémon Co. ($12 billion), Bluestar Alliance ($10 billion), Mattel ($8.8 billion) and Sanrio ($8.4 billion).
According to License Global, the top ten companies have exceeded $1 trillion over the past five years.

The number shows “the resilience of emotional connections in consumer decision-making,” says Ben Roberts, content director at License Global. “Even as economic pressures mount, consumers continue to prioritize brands that matter to them personally, creating a foundation of loyalty that transcends traditional market forces.”
Insights Gained
Breaking the sales down, apparel continues to top the list of growth categories with 70% of brand owners calling it a key opportunity for 2025-2026.
This was followed by toys & games and food & beverages.
