Extreme Heat Advisory Issued for Disney World
Disney World is The Most Magical Place on Earth, but it can also feel like one of the hottest thanks to that signature Florida heat and humidity. This summer has been a hot one, and it doesn’t look like things are going to cool down anytime soon.
We’ve seen a bunch of heat advisories issued over the past couple of weeks for Disney World, and today is no different.
Heat Advisory in Disney World
Another heat advisory has been issued today for Disney World and the surrounding areas, according to The Weather Channel. It is in effect from 12PM to 7PM today.
UPDATE: An Extreme Heat Watch has been issued for Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday evening. This warns of dangerously hot conditions with heat index values of 110 to 115 possible.
Magic Kingdom
The heat index values for today’s warning are 108 to 112 degrees, which is a major to extreme heat risk. These hot temperatures combined with high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
EPCOT
The high in Disney World is 98 degrees today, but it’s the feels-like temperature that will be causing the issues. The UV index is also at 11 right now, which is extreme.
Tree of Life
It is advised to stay hydrated and stay out of the sun. If you are outside, you should try to limit activity and wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing.
If you’re in the parks today, make sure you’re taking a LOT of breaks in the air conditioning so you don’t get overheated. Wear sunscreen, replenish your electrolytes, and don’t push yourself.
