Dive Lock-Out Chamber Presentations Return to EPCOT
We all know that EPCOT is full of all kinds of unique experiences, but this newly returned show is one that’s particularly out-of-the-ordinary!
Come dive into The Seas with us as we check out today’s show. Don’t hold your breath, but we think it’s one you won’t want to miss!

Diver Lock-Out Chamber Demonstration
Have you ever noticed this giant tube in the center of The Seas pavilion?

Located among the fish in the center of the aquarium, this fascinating piece is known as a “Diver Lock-Out Chamber” — and it’s the site of a newly returning show at EPCOT today!

Starting today (July 22nd), specialist demonstrations will be taking place right here at the chamber, teaching guests all about the unique mechanism and all the diving-related intel that goes with it!

Now, this isn’t the first time that demonstrations here have taken place…but it has been a while!
The original daily demonstrations stopped during the pandemic and haven’t resumed since. Until today!

A Unique Water Show!
So, what can guests expect to see during these demonstrations?

Well, each show involves a specialist, highly-trained and certified diver entering the chamber, and showing guests how a tank like this is used.
There’s a passionate and fun narrator there to tell all us guests what’s happening, and safety staff on hand too. Lastly, there’s even an eager member of the audience up on the platform, working as a voluntary “diving buddy” for the diver!

During the course of the demonstration, guests will see the chamber filling up with water, allowing the diver to proceed up through the tank to reach the top.

At first, it can be quite alarming to see this start to happen, but don’t worry! Everyone here is very trained and experienced, and the Cast Member narrator explains what is happening every step of the way!

Just look at how high up he floats!

Following this stage of the presentation, the water levels start to empty out again, allowing the diver to travel back down the tube and exit the chamber safely.
Don’t worry — guests in the audience don’t get washed away by a giant wave of water as they re-open the hatch!

At the moment, these lock-out chamber presentations will be taking place here at The Seas daily at 10.30am and 4pm.
If you’d like to watch it for yourself (we’d highly recommend it as a unique EPCOT experience!), be sure to double-check times on the My Disney Experience app during your next visit!

And no — this isn’t to be confused with the new Disney+ Dive-In Theater Experiences announced earlier this week. It might sound like a similar thing, but we promise you they’re very different Disney activities!

Be sure to check out the returning Diver Lock-Out Chamber demonstrations on your next swim through EPCOT!
