A New Map Tells Guests the Legend of Stormalong Bay
If you have been reading along here at MickeyBlog, you know this has been an eventful summer at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort.
Earlier this year, Stormalong Bay closed for months as the iconic pool underwent a significant refurbishment. While the water hub has since reopened, work is continuing on the Beach Club exterior. Nevertheless, the resort has never looked better!

Now, an amazing Stormalong Bay map has arrived, further developing the backstory of the pool.

Here is what we know.
How the New Map Came Together
A team of Imagineers led by Hector, Kylie, and Shelly helped design a new map for Stormalong Bay.

Using old images, Shelly hand-drew the map before handing it over to Hector to ensure the sign was fabricated and installed.

The new map features an artistic depiction of Stormalong Bay, accompanied by a sea shanty titled “The Legend of Stormalong Bay.”

The Legend of Stormalong Bay
The words to the Shany read:
The Legend of Stormalong BayOnce upon a time, a sally tar named Joe,
He stood two hundred barrels tall.
With shoulders like an ox he strode,
His arms were thick as any oak.A mighty man was he to see,
From Hurricane Hanna to the Sycamores,
Until that black and stormy day,
The giant fell, ’twas sad to see!
The giant fell — and wrecked our beach!
But cheer — Hanna kept her promise.
As all her neighbors saw with glee,
“Not all was lost,” cried Joe, a friend!
Come back, O’ Stormy, with a happy day,
Come back to Stormalong Bay!
The new map is an amazing addition to Stormalong Bay and a great example of the Disney Difference.
