Disneyland Resort Surpasses One Billion Visitors!
Disneyland has been in the news a lot lately- and all for great things! The beloved theme park recently celebrated its official 70th Anniversary, attracting guests (and crowds) from all over the world.
The Disneyland Resort has also reached another huge milestone. The park officially welcomed more than 1 billion visitors.
According to attendance estimates from TEA/AECOM and other industry data, the Anaheim-based destination likely crossed the milestone in February 2025.
Steady Attendance
Disneyland and Disney California Adventure have steadily grown in attendance for the past few decades.
Cast Member Welcome
Early milestones included:
- 100 million visitors in 1971
- 200 million in 1981
- 300 million in 1989
- 400 million in 1997
- 500 million in 2004

Tracking attendance used to be a Disneyland tradition with the park, proudly announcing numbers and issuing tallies.
While Disney no longer releases annual attendance numbers, third-party organizations have been tracking the numbers for years.

According to TEA/AECOM, from 2004 to 2023, Disneyland saw approximately 307.3 million visitors. Disney California Adventure has welcomed 161.5 million since opening in 2001.
By the end of 2024, the total for the entire resort was approximately 996.5 million, so close to 1 billion! With an estimated 75,890 guests visiting each day, the actual 1 billionth visitor is estimated to have entered on February 15th, 2025.
Post-Pandemic Numbers
Disneyland’s attendance continues to grow after the pandemic shutdown in 2020, with Disney California Adventure even setting a new record in 2023 with 10 million annual visitors.
As Disney celebrates its 70th anniversary, the 1 billion milestone highlights the park’s enduring popularity and continued growth.
