FIRST LOOK: Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away Nighttime Parade in Magic Kingdom
The time has finally arrived — we get to see Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away in Magic Kingdom! This is the first time there has been a nighttime parade in the park in almost a decade.

The parade officially debuts on July 20th, but Disney decided to do an early preview tonight in Magic Kingdom, and we were lucky enough to catch it! Come along with us to check it out.

At 7:15PM tonight (July 18), Disney announced to Magic Kingdom guests that Starlight would be soft opening at 9PM!

Disney Starlight runs from Main Street, U.S.A., towards Frontierland, which is backwards from the typical daytime parade routes we see at Magic Kingdom. This is to allow for better guest flow at the end of the night.
We got our spot and are ready to see some nighttime magic!

We got to see the new Starlight Bubble Wands, which interact with the parade.

We also got the chance to take photos with this Starlight PhotoPass prop.
In the My Disney Experience app, our photo appeared with a sparkly frame and the Blue Fairy in the bottom right corner!

The parade was delayed briefly due to inclement weather, so it started around 9:15PM.
The parade features an original theme written specifically for Disney Starlight that embodies the majestic fantasy feelings you get while watching this type of parade with Cinderella Castle as the backdrop. Disney said that the new theme may have some surprises that sound familiar, so listen closely for some Disney Parks favorites that have been included!

Disney considers the floats in this parade “dreamscapes” of light. They use lighting and video elements as a storytelling tool to portray movement, color, and imagery you would normally see in a daytime float.

The Blue Fairy is the one leading this mystical parade! The Blue Fairy Magic, which is seen throughout the parade, is made completely from points of light.

We also saw Asha from Disney’s Wish!

Here comes La Familia Madrigal, including Mirabel, Isabela, and Bruno from Disney’s Encanto. On this float, Disney uses curved LED panels to create magic and movement that you can’t get with a static image.

Elsa has to make an appearance, of course! She’s the queen of some sparkling, glittery magic.

And, Moana is sailing the twinkling ocean waves.

The finale float is a whimsical train inspired by the iconic Main Street Electrical Parade float! It features Goofy, Pluto, Donald Duck, and Daisy Duck leading the procession.
The train has a name too — Whimsy!

Then, we see Snow White and Dopey in a twinkling minecar…

…and Aladdin and Jasmine taking a magic carpet ride!

Finally, we’ve got Mickey and Minnie Mouse in their sparkling new looks for this parade!
