The Happiest Place on Earth Celebrates Decades of Magic, Memories, and Moments as Disneyland Officially Turns 70
On this day 70 years ago, Walt Disney welcomed the first guests to Disneyland with the immortal words:
“To all who come to this happy place, welcome. Here age relives fond memories of the past — and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams and the hard facts that have created America — with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world.”
With that, a new theme park would open. One that would not only revolutionize the entertainment industry but would also change the landscape of American popular culture.

Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary Has Arrived!
While the Disneyland 70 Celebration has been underway for months now, things will kick up a notch today with the opening of Walt Disney – A Magical Life, and the debut of the Last Verse on “it’s a small world.”
Additionally, there will be new commemorative merchandise, themed food, and more surprises debuting throughout the day.
