Sarah Jessica Parker Gives a Disappointing Update on ‘Hocus Pocus 3’
After nearly three decades, Hocus Pocus fans were finally able to revisit Salem when Hocus Pocus 2 premiered on Disney+ in 2022.
The long-awaited return of the Sanderson sisters proved to be a major hit for Disney, becoming one of the most-watched films on Disney+ that year. The sequel later earned three Emmy nominations, including one for Outstanding Television Movie.

Based on the second film’s success, in June 2023, Sean Bailey, the then-president of Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Production, revealed that a third Hocus Pocus was in development. Later that month, it was announced that Anne Fletcher would once again serve as director, with Jen D’Angelo writing the script.

Since that time, however, updates have been few and far between.
The last time we checked in, Bette Midler revealed that Disney was “very gingerly and very gently” working on the third installment in the franchise.

Now, Sarah Jessica Parker has weighed in.
“No More Developments”
During a recent appearance on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live, Sarah Jessica Parker was asked about Hocus Pocus 3, which has been rumoured to begin filming soon in London.
“Um, well, for the expats in London,” she teased. “No more developments, other than we would like to do it.”

Later, Parker added that “we would like to do it” and that “we’ve been having some conversations.”
The good news is that it sounds like Hocus Pocus 3 is still in development. However, it may be a while before we see the film come to fruition.

Hopefully, however, we get a more substantial update on the film soon.
