How Much Would You Pay for a Dumbo Ride Vehicle?
A piece of Disneyland history just made headlines! A ride vehicle from the classic Dumbo the Flying Elephant attraction sold for $150,000 during the recent “Celebrating the Disney Studio and Parks” auction hosted by Van Eaton Galleries in Studio City, California.

The 9.5-foot-long Dumbo came from the Disneyland version of the ride and was previously a photo op for guests.
Originally sold at the first-ever Disneyana Convention in 1992, this iconic prop now has a new home.

A certificate of authenticity from Disney says the vehicle is from 1955 and is a Disney original.
However, the gallery thinks it’s from a 1960s redesign because the ears were not designed to move like the originals.

The Dumbo ride vehicle was the top-selling item, but it was not the only Disney item up for auction.
Other items included a life-size Stormtrooper statue, a series of concept paintings by Disney Legend Mary Blair, a rare 2003 “coming soon” attraction poster for Mickey’s PhilharMagic, and attraction posters from the early years of Euro Disneyland.
Dumbo Today
While this ride vehicle now belongs to a Disney collector, guests can still experience Dumbo today in Disneyland Park and Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.
The sweet ride is family-friendly and a nostalgic must-do for guests of all ages. It remains one of the most iconic Disney attractions.
