FIRST LOOK at the Sparkling Disney Starlight Parade Costumes
In just nine days, Magic Kingdom will sparkle to life as Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away finally makes its highly anticipated debut.
First revealed during last year’s D23: The Ultimate Fan Event, this all-new procession expands on the beloved tradition of the Main Street Electrical Parade, blending cutting-edge technology with timeless Disney storytelling.

“Disney Starlight is a constellation of Disney dreams brought to life by the magic of the Blue Fairy,” show director Tara Anderson explained last year.
‘We Call It Imagineering: Disney Starlight’
Ahead of Disney Starlight’s arrival, Disney showcased the procession in a new episode of We Call It Imagineering. Earlier this morning, we brought you the exciting news that a new character will debut in the parade.

Now, I’d like to turn your attention to some of the costumes that will be debuting in the procession!
The Royal Court Dancers
When creating the costumes for the Disney Starlight Royal Court Dances, Disney took inspiration from the concept of dancing through the stars.

Additionally, the costumes were designed to feature a nod to Mary Blair.
To ensure that Disney Starlight lights up the Magic Kingdom at night, customers designed a custom galaxy print that covers both the performers and the floats.

The costumes feature a satin layer with lights underneath and organza on top.

Each light is individually placed and fed into a box that plugs into a battery. Rhinestones have also been meticulously hand-placed.
The final result allows the lights to sync with the music and floats!

I, for one, can’t wait for the procession to debut.
