VIDEO: MCO Airport Is Disney World’s Goofy Neighbor and We’re Here for It
You know that one goofy neighbor. The one who pops up in your family photos, borrows a cuppa sugar just to hang out, and somehow always ends up stealing the show at the block party with their over-the-top antics? Yeah. That’s Orlando International Airport (MCO) relationship with Disney World in a nutshell.

Pete from A Goofy Movie always manages to be more of a goofy neighbor than Goofy…
MCO has proven again and again that it’s Disney World’s goofy neighbor who just wants to be in on the magic. Some of their parodies are absolute masterpieces… including a hilarious homage to the iconic Fantasmic! nighttime spectacular at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We’re not exaggerating when we say it’s *almost* as good as the real thing, but also remember… sarcasm is our love language.

The OG: Disney’s Fantasmic!
First, a quick refresher. Fantasmic! is a fan-favorite Disney nighttime show featuring epic stunts, dazzling effects, soaring music, and an emotional journey inside Mickey’s imagination. It’s got heroes, villains, fireworks, dancing water, and a 40-foot dragon, people. It’s big, bold, and unforgettable.

Characters like Moana, Elsa, Mulan, Aladdin, and Pocahontas all play a role in Mickey’s dreamlike battle of good versus evil. It’s moving. It’s magical. It’s Mickey.
And then… there’s MCO’s version.

The Parody We Never Knew We Needed
Set to a whistled version of the Fantasmic theme music, MCO’s parody video opens with a stunning shot of their fountain. Cue the dancing water—as only an airport fountain can deliver. But wait, it gets better. The airport stages are set with “mermaids” (a.k.a. travelers snoozing), train cars “flying by,” waving “streamers,” and even a triumphant finale starring a whistling sorcerer’s apprentice atop the Air Traffic Control Tower (well, not quite Mickey, but definitely in spirit).

This might sound ridiculous—and that’s because it is—but in the best way possible. Somehow, this quirky and lovingly crafted tribute hits all the right notes. Just like your goofy neighbor. And Disney fans agree.
10/10. No Notes. Media Approved.
One of our favorite comments on the video came from a former Fantasmic performer who said:
“As a former Fantasmic performer… 10/10 no notes. Perfection. Media approved.”
And they weren’t alone. Other Disney cast members chimed in to praise the video’s creativity and execution. It’s clear MCO struck a nostalgic (and hilarious) chord with performers and fans alike.

Why We Love MCO for This
This isn’t the first time MCO has leaned into its role as Disney’s quirky neighbor and unofficial hype crew. They welcome guests with pixie-dusted announcements, themed holiday décor, and now, parody performances worthy of a spot in the Disney+ catalog. They know they’re the first and last stop on most families’ magical vacations. They’re running with it and we are here for it.

MCO
In a world that can take itself too seriously, MCO reminds us that magic isn’t just at the theme parks. Sometimes, it’s found in a goofy airport video featuring a whistling soundtrack, a less than dynamic “dancing” fountain, and a deep love for Disney’s storytelling.

Magic touches added to celebrate Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary
So here’s to you, MCO. Never stop being your silly, spotlight-stealing self. And Mickey? You better watch out. You might just have some friendly competition.

Mears Connect
Because ride-share options can fluctuate in availability, options (especially for families), and price (hello surge pricing), it’s always nice to know you’ll have a ride waiting for you at the airport to get to the magic… and someone scheduled to pick you up in time to arrive early for your flights home.
