Disneyland’s “Walt Disney – A Magical Life” Will Open With a Virtual Queue
It’s almost Disneyland’s actual 70th birthday!
The Disneyland Resort turns 70 on July 17th, and you know Disney is celebrating big.
In case you haven’t been able to keep up (there has been a lot of 70th Celebration news, to be fair), Disneyland Park will honor the day by adding the last verse to “it’s a small world” and debuting “Walt Disney – A Magical Life.”

“Walt Disney – A Magical Life” is one of the most anticipated anniversary offerings, mainly due to the Walt Disney audio-animatronic included in the show. And if you were hoping to catch a glimpse at the first-ever Walt animatronic, it’ll take some work.

“Walt Disney – A Magical Life” will debut at Disneyland’s Main Street Opera House on July 17th!
If you want to catch the show, you will need to use the Disneyland app to request to join the virtual queue. (There will not be a standby queue while the virtual queue is in place.)

There will be two opportunities each day to request to join the virtual queue:
- 7AM: Guests must have a Disneyland Park reservation for that day
- 12PM: Guests must be in Disneyland Park or be in Disney California Adventure with a Park Hopper ticket

Remember–joining the virtual queue does not guarantee the ability to see “Walt Disney – A Magical Life,” and showtimes are subject to change or cancellation.

Before the virtual queue opens, log in to the Disneyland app and link your entire group’s tickets to your MyDisney account. If someone’s ticket is not linked to your account, you will not be able to add them to the virtual queue.
