How Disney Cosmetology and Costuming Worked Together on the Celebrate Happy Cavalcade
In celebration of Disneyland’s 70th anniversary, The Happiest Place on Earth has debuted a TON of new entertainment offerings this year. In addition to the return of the fan-favorite Paint the Night, we have seen the debut of the Tapestry of Happiness Projection Show, World of Color Happiness!, and the Celebrate Happy Cavalcade.
Additionally, various characters have debuted new Disneyland 70 looks.

To bring these entertainment offerings to life, Disney relied on a talented team of performers, costume designers, makeup artists, and choreographers.
Creating the Look For the Celebrate Happy Cavalcade
In a new video posted on Instagram, Disney Live Entertainment shared a look behind the scenes of The Celebrate Happy Cavalcade.

To bring the new procession to life, cosmetology and customers worked side by side to design the perfect look.
To ensure that everything comes out perfectly, the cosmetic team meets with the costume designer, discusses key colors, clarifies expectations, and reviews choreography.
For the Celebrate Happy Cavalcade promenade dancers, team true inspiration from the Good Fairies from Sleeping Beauty.

Other touches, including the diamond makeup, drew inspiration from Mary Blair and “it’s a small world.”
“We love getting inspired by Disneyland and all of the history and legacy here,” cosmetologist Jen explains.
