Saying Goodbye- It’s the Last Day to Experience Tom Sawyer Island
Today marks a bittersweet day for Disney fans, as we say goodbye to two cherished Magic Kingdom experiences.
It’s the final day to enjoy Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat—attractions that have long captured the spirit of adventure and Americana in Frontierland and Liberty Square.

Last Day Tomorrow Sawyer Island
Starting Monday, July 7, both attractions, along with the Rivers of America, will close permanently to make way for Piston Peak National Park, a brand-new Cars-themed expansion coming to Magic Kingdom.
Join us as we experience Tom Sawyer Island one last time.

The attraction actually opened early! Let’s go explore!

Tom Sawyer Island
Located in Frontierland, for years, guests could travel by log raft to this secret rustic hideaway.

Tom Sawyer Island
Inspired by the stories of Mark Twain, the characters and locations were brought to life.
This is such a great place to explore- especially on hot or crowded days.

Tom Sawyer Island
Guests could wander along dusty dirt roads lined with tall trees, explore whirling mills, secret trails, and suspension bridges.
The boat dock and various buildings brought to life an immersive experience of the American frontier.

And of course, all of the fantastic characters inspired by Mark Twain’s literature.

In addition to the log raft, guests can also enjoy a scenic tour on the Liberty Belle that provides great views of the island.
The location was self-guided, and you could experience Tom’s Landing at your leisure.
