PHOTOS: Join Us for One Last Ride on the Liberty Square Riverboat
Today is a sad day for many Disney fans and the end of an era at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.
It is the final day to experience the beloved and classic attractions, Tom Sawyer Island, and the Liberty Square Riverboat.
These experiences are rich in nostalgia and storytelling and have been longtime staples of the park’s Frontierland and Liberty Square areas.
MickeyBlog is bringing you along to experience these charming attractions one last time.
New Expansion
Beginning Monday, July 7, these attractions, along with Rivers of America will close permanently to make way for Piston Peak National Park-Magic Kingdom’s Cars-themed expansion.
Permits have recently been filed for Tom Sawyer Island, and no doubt, construction will begin soon.
This morning, the crowds were fairly light as we headed into Magic Kingdom. Both the entrance and Main Street were filled with guests ready for a great day at the park.
Pretty quiet as we rounded Liberty Square…
Just past the bridge, we noticed the crowds getting thicker.
Here is a great photo of the Liberty Belle this morning!
