It’s Your LAST CHANCE to Ride the Liberty Belle and Visit Tom Sawyer Island!
It’s nearly time to bid a fond farewell to two classic Magic Kingdom attractions.
Both the Liberty Square Riverboat (more commonly known as the Liberty Belle) and Tom Sawyer Island are permanently closing on Monday, July 7th, to make way for Piston Peak National Park–Magic Kingdom’s Cars-themed expansion. That means your final chance to visit the attractions is Sunday, July 6th.
If you can’t make it to the park to say “goodbye,” don’t worry. We’ve got your virtual farewell right here!
Liberty Belle and Tom Sawyer Island
If you’ve taken a ride on the Liberty Belle, then you’re probably familiar with its charm. The authentic riverboat takes guests on a 17-minute cruise around the Rivers of America, showing them rarely-seen areas and unique views of the park.
The riverboat has four decks and a steam-powered paddle wheeler, which moves the boat.
Along the way, guests are transported back to the “early days of the American frontier,” where they can see an early settlement, a Native American village, Harper’s Mill, Fort Langhorn, Wilson’s Cave Inn, and Woodland animals.
Liberty Belle
Tom Sawyer Island immerses guests in the adventures of early settlers, with areas to explore, inspired by the stories of Mark Twain. To access the island, guests must board a log raft, which takes them across the Rivers of America. (This is also the way you get back.)
The island has dirt paths, mills, suspension bridges, caves, and a frontier fort! This is an area guests enjoy wandering around, making it a park staple for many.
