Guy Fieri’s Chicken Guy! Sued By Game Show Winner
In a headline that I never thought I would write, Guy Fieri’s Chicken Guy! restaurant is being sued by a game show winner over a breach of contract.
According to federal court records, Philadelphia chef Kevin Cooper has filed a lawsuit in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Fieri, Chicken Guy LLC, and Earl Enterprises LLC, which is owned by Robert Earl, the CEO and founder of Planet Hollywood.
Cooper was the 2022 winner of Guy’s Chance of a Lifetime, a reality game show. According to his lawsuit, after winning the competition, he was given an “enforceable contract” which included a guaranteed $100,000 salary and a Chicken Guy! franchise.

Additionally, he was supposed to receive a location for the franchise, operational expenses if they exceeded revenue in the first year, and a waiver of franchise fees.
What Is Chicken Guy!?
For those who don’t know, the first Chicken Guy! opened in Disney Springs. Since then, the franchise has expanded to 19 additional locations.
According to their website, “The brand was founded by chef Guy Fieri and restaurateur Robert Earl, two icons in the food world with a shared vision: take crispy, juicy chicken, elevate it with bold brines and fresh herbs, and pair it with a wide range of signature sauces.”
“Together, they created a dining experience that brings big-time flavor, saucy personality, and chicken done right to the fast-casual scene. And that’s how the Chicken Guy! story began—one crave-worthy tender at a time.”
What Cooper Is Seeking
According to USA Today, Cooper alleges that the two entities failed to live up to the contract and is asking for a $100,000 judgment, as well as for both entities to pay $ 68,833.26 in expenses.
