Attendance Expected to Almost DOUBLE in Disney World by 2045
If there is one thing you can ALWAYS count on seeing at Disney World, it’s other people. It’s a very, very busy place and for a good reason — it’s The Most Magical Place on Earth!

Crowds
So, what does attendance at the parks look like moving forward? Well, we’ve got some big numbers to share with you!
Disney World Attendance Expected to Almost Double by 2045
The number of people that visit Disney World is expected to almost DOUBLE over the next 20 years, according to The Orange County Register. The site is referencing a report from the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District.

Magic Kingdom
We broke down parts of the same report earlier when talking about the potential of a 5th theme park being added to Disney World.
But let’s take a closer look at what the report says about attendance, because the numbers are staggering! Disney World is projected to have 99.3 million visitors by the year 2045, which is a 94% increase from the 51.2 million people that visited in 2023.

Hollywood Studios crowds
These stats are according to the newly adopted Comprehensive Plan 2045 from the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District. And the big spike in attendance will seem to partially rely upon the eventual development of one major theme park and two minor theme parks by the year 2045.
The plan says that Disney World is projected to add one minor theme park by 2030 and another minor theme park by 2035. A minor theme park would be something like a water park, according to the plan.

Blizzard Beach
Then, Disney World is projected to add a major theme park some time between 2035 and 2045. This major park would be what’s considered the “5th gate” and join the other 4 major Disney World theme parks — Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, and EPCOT.
The new major park is expected to have an annual attendance of 18.5 million visitors. It’s important to note that right now, Disney World does NOT have any plans under review for any major or minor theme parks.

EPCOT
The plan also made some projections for how many people will visit each of the major Disney World theme parks in 2045. These are some big numbers! Let’s take a look:
- Magic Kingdom — attendance increase of 59% — from 17.7 million in 2023 to 28.1 million in 2045
- EPCOT — attendance increase of 68% — from 12 million in 2023 to 20.2 million in 2045
- Animal Kingdom — attendance increase of 33% — from 8.8 million in 2023 to 11.7 million in 2045
- Hollywood Studios — attendance increase of 37% — from 10.3 million in 2023 to 14.1 million in 2045

Tree of Life
CFTOD estimates that daily attendance across all of Disney World will go up to 335,000 to 475,000 guests per day by 2045. Right now, there are about 200,000 to 300,000+ guests per day on Disney World property.
The tourism district’s plan also projects that Disney World will add 8,000 hotel rooms and 11,000 employees over the next 20 years. The entire resort is projected to have 41,000 hotel rooms and 89,000 employees by 2045.
