Marvel’s ‘Thunderbolts*’ Gets Digital and Blu-Ray Release Dates

After receiving rave reviews from critics and fans alike, Marvel’s Thunderbolts* has finally received digital and Blu-ray release dates.

Hitting theaters on May 2, Thunderbolts* introduced a new super team into the MCU.

Under the watchful eye of Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis Dreyfus), the MCU’s Thunderbolts brings together Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Red Guardian (David Harbour), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko), and U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell).

A Disappointing Box Office Run

While Thunderbolts* received rave reviews from critics and fans alike, the film’s box office performance was perhaps a bit underwhelming.

By the time the dust had settled, the Marvel blockbuster earned $188.69 million at domestic theaters and $190.6 million overseas for a worldwide cume of $370.29 million.

As a stand-alone film, the box office prospects for Thunderbolts* were never going to be as high as the likes of Thor, Deadpool, or even Captain America. Nevertheless, with a $180 million budget, Marvel likely hoped for more out of the film.

Thunderbolts* Home Video Release

On July 1, fans will be able to watch the latest Marvel blockbuster from the comfort of their own home when Thunderbolts* arrives on video on demand.

Additionally, on July 29, the film will get a physical media release on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD.

Both the digital and video releases of Thunderbolts* will give fans access to deleted scenes, a gag reel, behind-the-scenes featurettes, and commentary by director Jake Schreier.
