We’ve been celebrating the Disneyland Resort’s 70th anniversary for a month now, but we still haven’t seen everything the celebration has to offer. There’s even more coming our way on July 17th–Disneyland’s actual 70th birthday.
Here’s the full list of everything debuting on July 17th in honor of the monumental milestone:
“Walt Disney – A Magical Life” and Walt Disney Animatronic
“Walt Disney – A Magical Life” will finally debut at Disneyland’s Main Street Opera House on July 17th! The new 17-minute show includes the first-ever Walt Disney audio-animatronic–a park addition many fans are looking forward to.
Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln Sign Removed from Main Street Opera House
The show will give Disneyland Park guests the rare opportunity to step into Walt’s office and experience what it might’ve been like to be in his presence. Walt Disney Imagineering has teased that this will be “the most lifelike human figure” Disney has ever made.
Disney aims to portray Walt in 1963. By studying old footage, Imagineers have provided intense attention to detail, with the animatronic sharing Walt’s age spots, mannerisms, expressive eyebrows, and other unique qualities.

“it’s a small world” Last Verse Update
“it’s a small world” will receive yet another update on July 17th! This time, the update relates to the attraction’s song, aptly named “It’s a Small World.”
The song–one that fans know a little too well–was written by the iconic songwriting duo, Richard Sherman and Robert Sherman. (You may also know them as the “Sherman Brothers.”)

In celebration of the resort’s 70th birthday–and the iconic songwriting duo–the song will be updated to include Richard Sherman’s final verse. The final verse is also Sherman’s final contribution to Disney.
Here’s the verse:
Mother earth unites us in heart and mind
And the love we give makes us humankind
Through our vast wondrous land
When we stand hand in hand
It’s a small world after all.
it’s a small world
Visit the ride on or after July 17th to hear this new, last verse.

Disneyland Resort POVs
If you can’t visit the resort for its 70th birthday, you could just watch POVs instead! On July 17th, 16 Disneyland Resort POVs will arrive on Disney+!

Walt Disney Talking Figure
The Disney Store website has been dropping 70th anniversary collections one by one–with more on their way in the coming weeks–but there’s one item that’s sure to sell out fast.
We’re talking about the Disneyland 70th Anniversary Walt Disney Talking Figure, which is dropping on the website on July 17th. We don’t know much about this figure yet, but we assume it’s closely related to the audio-animatronic in “Walt Disney – A Magical Life,” due to the similarities in stance, features, and debut dates.
