Dumbo Playground Reopening Delayed in Magic Kingdom
Refurbishments happen around Disney World ALL the time. There are big ones, like complete rides being shut down for months and months, as well as little ones, like some new pavement being added in a small walkway.

And, these can change all the time, too! Today, we found out that a refurbishment in Magic Kingdom has been delayed.
Dumbo Playground Reopening Delayed
The indoor playground area in the queue of Dumbo the Flying Elephant has had its refurbishment extended. The area closed back at the end of February and was originally expected to reopen in the spring of this year.

Here’s the original message we saw on Disney’s website back in January:

Now, the message has been changed to say “The indoor children’s playground in the Dumbo the Flying Elephant queue is closed for refurbishment and is expected to reopen later this year. The attraction will remain open and available during this time.”

We went by the attraction, and the play area is still up behind curtains!

It sounds like the work is taking longer than Disney expected, since they left the reopening so vague by just saying “later this year” instead of mentioning a season. We’ll keep you updated when we know more!

But, the good news is, you can still experience the actual attraction without any disruptions!
