Disney’s Contemporary Resort Refurbishment Extended to Mid-2026
Disney has just announced that select areas undergoing refurbishment at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, including areas of Bay Lake Tower, have been extended through 2026.

Guests staying at the resort during this period should be aware of possible construction noise and longer travel times around the property.
Refurbishment Updates
If you follow MickeyBlog, you are aware that Disney’s Contemporary Resort has been undergoing updates. The Disney hotel has closed off sections of the resort, while keeping other areas operational and warning guests of noise and possible disruptions.
As part of the scheduled work, the Bay Cove Pool, the Cove Bar, the water play area, and the whirlpool spa at Bay Lake Tower will be temporarily closed for maintenance from January 26 through early May 2026.

The Contemporary Resort’s main pool, whirlpool spa, and water play area will remain open for guests to enjoy. No further details have been provided at this time, but MickeyBlog will monitor the progress.

Test Track in E
Several areas across Walt Disney World continue to receive enhancements this summer. Attractions, including Test Track 3.0 (opening July 22nd), Astro Orbiter, and Big Thunder Mountain, are getting refreshed and updated.
Storm Along Bay and the Emporium in Magic Kingdom have recently reopened after temporary closures.
