A MASSIVE Pool Expansion Is Coming to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort; Stormalong Bay Reopens
With school out for the summer, families from across the country are heading to Walt Disney World for some fun in the sun!
If you have been reading along here at MickeyBlog, you know that we have been bringing you updates on the launch of Cool Kid Summer, which has introduced new experiences to all four Walt Disney World theme parks.
Additionally, there has been a lot of summer news outside of the parks. For starters, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon are open simultaneously for the first time in six years.

Work has also progressed at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club, where Stormalong Bay was closed for refurbishment.
Well, with summer officially arriving at Walt Disney World, we are back with another update!
Stormalong Bay Has Reopened!
After a six-month refurbishment, Stormalong Bay is once again welcoming guests to Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club, inviting them to use multiple amenities, including a sand-bottom pool, lazy river, and pool spas!
If you want some time in the sun on your Walt Disney World vacation, Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club is the place to stay!
The Meadow Swimmin’ Pool Is Getting a Major Expansion
With Stormalong Bay now open, Disney is focusing on a different resort pool.
At Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, Disney plans to expand the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool area to “make room for even more fun and relaxation.”

The new project will create a brand-new zero-entry pool and deck area alongside the existing pool—this will double the area’s size! Additionally, there are plans to add a new tennis court and two pickleball courts.
