Shanghai Disney Celebrates Nine Years of Magic With Two New Experiences
Between the Disneyland 70 Celebration, Hong Kong Disneyland’s 20th anniversary, and 85 years of Daisy Duck, Disney has plenty to celebrate this year.
While perhaps not as notable as those other milestones, today marks a special anniversary for Shanghai Disney Resort, which is celebrating nine years of operation!

For those of us who vividly remember the development of Shanghai Disney, the idea that the resort is almost ten years old is baffling. It seems like it opened just yesterday!

“June 16 is always a special day for me and for many of you. On this day, nine years ago, we welcomed our first official guests through Shanghai Disneyland’s gates. Since then, we have created memories filled with happiness for millions of guests from around the world. In the past nine years, the team has never stopped dreaming bigger, always finding innovative ways to touch the hearts of our guests, fans and all of our fellow cast members,” he wrote.
Two New Experiences Have Arrived!
As part of the park’s anniversary festivities, Bolstein highlighted two new experiences that guests can participate in.
First, Tinker Bell will make her Shanghai debut today, bringing a little bit of “pixie dust” with her.

Additionally, young guests visiting Adventure Isle can now partake in the newly opened Junior Explorers Camp.
The Secret Behind the Magic
Bolstein then concluded his post by thanking the men and women who have made Shanghai Disney so magical over the past nine years.
“I am incredibly thankful to every cast member and Imagineer for the tremendous work they’ve done for our resort, and for the passion and commitment they bring to sharing Disney’s magic with our guests every single day,” he ended.
