‘Star Wars’ Shines a Spotlight on Leida Mothma’s Wedding Dress
Since Andor debuted on Disney+ in 2022, the series has been praised by critics and fans alike, with many calling it the best Star Wars story ever told.
For those who may not know, Andor is set between Revenge of the Sith and Rogue One and follows the adventures of Cassian Andor, a petty criminal who transforms into a Rebel hero.

While Andor is often lauded for its gritty tone, grounded storytelling, and psychological complexity, the series also has an attention to detail that extends beyond its main narrative.
Leida Mothma’s Wedding Dress
In a new Instagram post, Star Wars highlighted Andor‘s costuming, specifically Leida Mothma’s wedding dress.

Despite the fact that Leida’s wedding was only tangentially connected to Andor‘s main storyline, costumers poured months into the garment.
Designed by Michael Wilkinson, Leida’s dress took three months to complete.

“The gown was composed of 34 fabric panels cut on the bias and then hand-sewn together in addition to hand-beading. This added detail allowed the dress to hover in the air for the audience reveal via hidden armature.”
