A New Intersection at Buena Vista Drive and Western Way
The first project would see design improvements to the Buena Vista Drive/Western Way intersection to facilitate movement through the area.
This project proposes a grade-separated interchange, with Buena Vista Drive elevated above Western Way.
The construction would span approximately 1.02 miles and affect the area outside Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort and Disney’s Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course entrance.
It also calls for Western Way to be expanded to the Blizzard Beach driveway, which circles the water park’s parking lot.
Widening of Western Way
A second project calls for a widening of Western Way. This construction would take place from “the CFTOD/Turnpike property boundary near the SR 429/Western Way interchange to approximately 535 feet north/west of the driveway serving Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort.”

Yikes
The goal of this project is to expand the section of Western Way from four lanes to six lanes.
As previously noted, bidding is underway on the projects, and contracts have not yet been given out.

However, we should learn more about the construction soon.
