Peter Sohn, Not Brad Bird, Will Direct ‘Incredibles 3’
According to a new report, Pixar is shaking things up for Incredibles 3.
For the first time in franchise history, the third installment of The Incredibles will not be directed by Brad Bird, but will instead be helmed by Elemental director Peter Sohn.
Bird, of course, wrote and directed the first Incredibles film in 2004 and has been synonymous with the franchise. The filmmaker returned to Pixar in 2018 to helm Incredibles 2.

Despite the 14-year layoff between installments, Incredibles 2 was a massive success for both Bird and Pixar, grossing $1.2 billion and becoming the second-highest-grossing animated film of all time.
Bird Will Still Write and Produce the Film
When Pixar CCO Pete Docter announced that Incredibles 3 was in development at last year’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, the prevailing notion was that Bird would once again write and direct the film.
Due to his commitments to Skydance’s Ray Gunn and Disney’s 1906, however, that will not be the case. Instead, the franchise creator will write and produce Incredibles 3 but will not direct.
In Bird’s absence, Pixar is turning to Peter Sohn, who is coming off the successful Elemental. Sohn’s other directorial credits include the short film Partly Cloudy and 2015’s The Good Dinosaur.
At this time, Pixar has not announced when Incredibles 3 will hit theaters, and the plot details have been kept under wraps.
