PHOTOS: The Astro Orbiter Refurbishment Wraps Up in Tomorrowland
Between the closing of Muppet*Vision 3D, the impending demolition of the Rivers of America, and the launch of Cool Kid Summer, 2025 has been an eventful year at Walt Disney World.
With everything going on over the last few months, it has been easy to forget about some of the other projects taking place across the resort. These include the ongoing refurbishment of Big Thunder Mountain, the construction taking place at Stormalong Bay, and the continuing work at Magic Kingdom’s Emporium.
Finally, there is the Astro Orbiter refurbishment.
Astro Orbiter Has Been Closed Since January
Over the last several months, a major renovation of Tomorrowland’s high-flying attraction has been unfolding before our eyes.
The last time we checked in, the planets had been reinstalled in the Astro Orbiter’s central structure.
Now, it is time for another update!
Construction Has Wrapped Up!

Once again, the complete collection of planets looms high over Tomorrowland.

With work now concluded, the large Tomorrowland crane has finally been removed.
Astro Orbiter looks great!
I, for one, can’t wait to fly high above Tomorrowland again!
When Will the Attraction Reopen?
While it looks like work on Astro Orbiter has concluded, the attraction has still not reopened.
By the look of things, however, fans should not have to wait long.
