Are Animal Kingdom’s NEW Pulled Pork Sliders a Worthy Replacement?

Today, we spotted more caramel at Karmell-Küche, an annual passholder-exclusive Dopey meet and greet, Test Track 3.0 progress, the Astro Orbiter refurb coming to a close, and tons of merchandise debuts, like the Harveys Sleeping Beauty tote.

But we’re not done yet–let’s head to Animal Kingdom to check out the park’s newest dish replacement.

We’re at Eight Spoon Café in Animal Kingdom, where we’re grieving the loss of the location’s Baked Macaroni and Cheese with Pulled Pork.

But it’s time to dry those tears and dig into the dish’s replacement–the new Pulled Pork Sliders! The dish has pulled pork with tangy barbecue sauce on Hawaiian rolls, served with house-made chips and pickles. They’ll cost you $7.99.

This is a worthy replacement–there’s a solid amount of pulled pork in here, which pairs perfectly with the sweetness provided by the Hawaiian roll. The sandwich is beautifully seasoned, enhanced with the pickles that come on each bun.

If we’re being nitpicky, our only complaint is that it could’ve used some more sauce–there’s just enough to keep it from being dry, but a bit more would’ve taken it to the next level. The potato chips are similar to a Cajun-seasoned chip, without being too heavy.

While we may be disappointed by the removal of the mac and cheese, we’re pretty pleased with this new dish! 

(There’s also a new Smoked Chicken Wings dish on the menu.)
