American Airlines Names Former Disney Exec to Customer Experience Advisory Board
American Airlines announced the members of its newly formed Customer Experience Advisory Board today, revealing three customer service and hospitality experts who will help Chief Customer Officer Heather Garboden deliver the best flights possible.
The Operational Excellence Advisory Board, created in 2023, is currently comprised of Bill Fitzgerald and Chris Sultemier. Lauren Chewning, Craig Reid, and Carol Campbell will join them.

In total, the three executives have over 90 years of experience.
Carol Campbell Brings Disney Experience
For Disney fans, the big news here is Campbell. For over twenty years, she worked at The Walt Disney Company in numerous capacities with a focus on customer relationship management.

“Carol Campbell has spent her career delivering innovative and game-changing business opportunities through the creation of great experiences, including a more than 20-year tenure with The Walt Disney Company,” American boasted in a press release.
“Campbell is currently Senior Vice President and Chief Experience Officer at Ascension, where she led the organization to achieve NPS scores rarely seen in the healthcare industry.”
The Rest of the Team
In her new role, Campbell will be joined by Lauren Chewning, who is currently Senior Vice President of Marriott’s Data & Intelligence organization and Craig Reid, most recently President and CEO of Auberge Resorts Collection.
