‘Lilo & Stitch’ Tops the Box Office For the Third Straight Weekend
For the third straight weekend, Disney’s Lilo & Stitch reigned supreme at the box office, beating out Ballerina to retain the top spot in theaters.
Before we discuss the latest numbers, let’s take a quick look at how we got here.
Lilo & Stitch was released to theaters on May 24 and quickly delivered a historic opening weekend. Grossing $182.7 million at domestic theaters over its debut frame, the latest Disney live-action remake gave the studio the best four-day Memorial Day weekend opening of all time.

“The love that people have for ‘Lilo & Stitch’ continues to grow, and the goal with this new retelling was for audiences to be able to enjoy these characters on the big screen again and hopefully have just as much fun watching it as we had making it,” Alan Bergman, co-chairman, Disney Entertainment, said.
“We are tremendously proud of this history-making launch, and I want to give my thanks to our teams who have done such great work as well as to the fans who have made this exceptional opening possible.”

Propelled ahead by sparkling audience reviews, Lilo & Stitch kept the momentum going last weekend, surging past $600 million globally.
The Good Times Keep Rolling
Topping the box office for the third straight weekend, Lilo & Stitch added another $32.5 million to its domestic haul, giving it a total of $335.8 million in North America.

Globally, the film has now grossed $722 million and is on its way to becoming the first billion-dollar film of 2025.
With How to Train Your Dragon hitting theaters next weekend, Lilo & Stitch’s monopoly on family audiences will end.

Nevertheless, the film is a true Disney blockbuster, and precisely what Disney needed after a slow start at the box office this year.
