Disney Celebrates the Return of ‘Phineas and Ferb’ With Immersive Experiences
After years of waiting, Phineas & Ferb triumphantly returned to Disney Channel last night with the premiere of Season 5.
To celebrate the return of the beloved animated series, Disney is pulling out all the stops this summer. The goal is to tap into the show’s multi-generational audience in unique ways.
According to a new report from AdWeek, Disney wanted the Phineas and Ferb promotional blitz to not simply focus on the new season, but celebrate the show as a whole.

“As we look at bringing audiences into the show, we’ve seen that so many new fans have discovered the show on TikTok or Disney+, and we knew there was an immense appetite for more,” Erin Weir, executive vice president of marketing, ABC and Disney Entertainment Television, told ADWEEK.
Ice Cream, Zoo Experiences, and the Warp Tour
Last month, we brought you the exciting news that a Phineas and Ferb ice cream truck was traversing Southern California to celebrate the show’s return.

That, however, was not the only unique experience that Disney has planned.
From now through June 22, families visiting the San Diego Zoo can enter the world of Perry the Playpus through a series of immersive experiences. These include a Perry-themed takeover of the zoo’s platypus area, a digital original short titled “Perry Interviews a Platypus,” and new signage throughout the zoo.
A second facet of the media campaign will see Phineas and Ferb take over the Vans Warped Tour at shows in Washington, D.C., and Long Beach. At the events, Bowling for Soup will perform a branded set.
Other Phineas and Ferb surprises for show attendees will include themed beach balls, cameos by characters, and a T-Shirt-inator.

“With the San Diego Zoo partnership, that makes sense for younger viewers and families who might be discovering the show for the first time,” Weir said. “Looking at the Van’s Warped Tour, that place is just a bullseye for the show’s musical DNA since Bowling for Soup’s iconic theme song has been embedded into our cultural zeitgeist, so this was a perfect match for us.”
“The Ultimate Celebration of Summer”
In addition to the unique experiences, Disney has also leaned into traditional advertising for Phineas and Ferb. This has included a digital campaign, red carpet event, and several teasers.

“We wanted to make sure everything we did was fully immersive and unexpected and incorporated live experiences, but also have things that work not only in real life, but travel through social, so we wanted to bring the new season to life in iconic places where kids and families—and now the adult fans—are,” Weir said.
“The show is the ultimate celebration of summer, and we wanted to be able to launch this right at the start of the summer season. After all, there’s only 104 days of summer vacation.”
