PHOTOS: Progress Continues on Stormalong Bay Refurbishment at Disney’s Yacht Club and Beach Club
With schools across the country now out for summer break, families have begun making the pilgrimage to Walt Disney World for some fun in the sun.
As part of the Cool Kid Summer promotion, Disney is offering more water activities than ever before, including the opening of Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach simultaneously for the first time in six years.

Unfortunately, however, one of the resort’s premier pools is closed for refurbishment.
Stormalong Bay Has Been Closed Since January
Of course, I am talking about Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort, which closed in January for a major refurbishment.
The last time we checked in on the project, water had returned to the pool.
Now, we are back with another update!
Progress Continues to Be Made
When we visited Stormalong Bay today, we were thrilled to see that the scaffolding around Disney’s Yacht Club had been removed.
Additionally, the entire pool is now filled!
Stormalong Bay looked amazing as it glistened in the sun.
The deck chairs have even come back out!
While Disney has undoubtedly made progress, plenty of construction equipment is still in the area.
The pool’s pirate ship waterslide continues to be covered in scaffolding.
Work on the nearby rocks was also underway while we were there.
Here is another look.
Beach Club Construction Continues
In addition to the Stormalong Bay construction, work is continuing on Disney’s Beach Club,
Construction walls and scaffolding continue to mar the resort’s exterior.
The entrance also remains blocked off.
