While Disneyland Park is (mostly) quiet (if you ignore all the 70th Celebration offerings), Disney California Adventure (DCA) is gearing up for big change. The Avengers Campus expansion will bring two new attractions to the land, the first-ever Coco attraction will debut near Paradise Gardens, and a brand-new Avatar-themed land is coming soon.
And Disney just released a ton of new details about some of these projects. Here’s what we just learned about the park’s Avatar land.
Avatar Land Details
Disney Parks Blog revealed that DCA will be transforming a portion of the Hollywood Backlot area into the new Avatar land!

Of course, the project is still in early stages, so they haven’t revealed much about this new land. However, we do know that Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! will close in early 2026 to make way for the land. (The attraction is surprisingly popular among fans, so this will undoubtedly be a controversial decision.)

Here’s more that we do know. The land will draw inspiration from Avatar: The Way of Water, Avatar: Fire and Ash, and future films, exploring parts of Pandora we have yet to see. It appears that there will be a boat attraction–while that may seem similar to Na’vi River Journey, we believe this may be the land’s E-Ticket attraction.
