Extended Evening Hours Will Return to Magic Kingdom This August
With Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away set to make its highly anticipated debut at Magic Kingdom in just a few weeks, the park will soon get an infusion of new magic.
Originally announced at last year’s D23: The Ultimate Fan Event, the new procession will build on the legacy of the Main Street Electrical Parade while also using the latest technology to tell classic Disney stories.
“Disney Starlight is a constellation of Disney dreams brought to life by the magic of the Blue Fairy,” show director Tara Anderson explained last year.

Extended Evening Hours Are Moving From Magic Kingdom to Animal Kingdom
With the arrival of Disney Starlight, Magic Kingdom will stay open later. Because of this operational change, Disney altered one of its most popular resort guest perks.
Extended Evening Hours are a way for guests to stay in the parks past operational hours on select dates, which typically means fewer crowds. Guests staying in select and Deluxe Disney World hotels qualify for this perk.
Extended Evening Hours in Magic Kingdom
As we reported in April, Extended Evening Hours will move from Magic Kingdom to Disney’s Animal Kingdom on July 2.
On extended evening hour dates, Animal Kingdom will remain open from 6 PM until 8 PM for guests staying at Disney Deluxe Resorts and other select hotels on the following dates:
- July 2, 2025
- July 9, 2025
- July 16, 2025
- July 23, 2025
- July 30, 2025
- August 6, 2025
Extended Evening Hours Will Return to Magic Kingdom in Mid-August
Based on the latest update to the Walt Disney World calendar, Extended Evening Hours will return to Magic Kingdom on August 13.
Based on the timetable, it looks like Disney wants to wait until Disney Starlight is firmly established and the summer crowds die down before bringing Extended Evening Hours back to the Magic Kingdom.
