WATCH: A Fight Broke Out at Shanghai Disneyland After a Photo Op Interruption
While the Disney Parks are often viewed and analyzed as a collective, each individual park has its own unique character.
Sometimes, that manifests in the type of guests that the parks attract. Disneyland, for example, tends to cater to Southern Californian residents and repeat visitors. Walt Disney World, on the other hand, views itself as a global destination where families often spend their once-in-a-lifetime vacation.
When it comes to Shanghai Disneyland, it is often remarked how polite and courteous the guests are.

Unfortunately, that was not the case last week.
A Harrowing Incident
In what can only be described as a shocking scene, a brawl broke out between two families at Shanghai Disneyland.
According to The Mirror, the altercation broke out between the two groups while they were waiting in line in the park’s Zootopia area. An argument reportedly arose in the queue, where a young man named Yan and his girlfriend were trying to take pictures.

The daughter of a man named Liu interrupted their photos, and an argument began.
The altercation eventually grew physical as the two adult men began to fight. The younger man’s girlfriend also joined the brawl, while the older man’s wife stood helpless nearby holding their young child.

Bystanders and Disney security were finally able to break up the altercation, with both parties sustaining skin injuries.
Police Confirm That They Are Investigating
Subsequently, the Pundong Public Security Bureau confirmed that they are investigating the incident.

“At about 18: 00 on May 31, 2025, Pudong Public Security Bureau received a report that there was a fight in Disneyland. After preliminary investigation, when Yan Moumou (male, 22 years old) and his girlfriend were taking pictures, because the daughter of Liu Moumou (male, 36 years old) entered the shooting picture, the two sides had a quarrel and caused physical conflict, causing Yan Moumou and Liu Moumou to have skin injuries to each other, and the little girl was not injured. At present, the investigation and handling work is being further carried out,” the wrote on Weibo.

As of this writing, there is no update on what consequences the brawling parties will face.
