BREAKING: Piston Peak National Park Revealed as the ‘Cars’ Expansion in Magic Kingdom!
We’re eagerly anticipating all the exciting expansions and projects the Disney World Resort has on the horizon!

From the very first villains-themed land to the Cars expansion–both located in Magic Kingdom, there’s a lot to look forward to. With so much excitement on its way, the wait for new information can be hard.
But the wait is over–new details were revealed for Magic Kingdom’s Cars-themed land. Let’s check it out!
Piston Peak National Park
Piston Peak National Park is coming to Magic Kingdom! The big reveal was made on Disney Parks Blog.
Of course, Piston Peak is a fictional land, however, the location will take inspiration from the Rocky Mountain area, whose American Frontier history will perfectly blend in with Frontierland and Liberty Square.

Piston Peak will be full of trees, mountains, waterfalls, rivers, and geysers–sights one would expect to see in a real National Park.

There will be a visitor lodge, Ranger HQ, trails, and more, which Imagineers will make fit the land with “Parkitecture,” developed by the National Park Service. This architecture style creates structures in a way that allows them to “harmonize” with the natural environment around them.
The blend of lands will be done via trees that will create a “natural barrier” between the Cars-themed land and its surroundings.

To get work started, the Rivers of America, Tom Sawyer Island, and the Liberty Square Riverboat will close on July 7th.
