Disney Is Reportedly “Castle Shopping” For ‘The Princess Diaries 3’
The internet was set a buzz in November 2022, when Disney announced that Princess Diaries 3 was officially in development.
The long-awaited third installment in The Princess Diaries series will return audiences to Genovia for the first time since 2004’s The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement.
Following the announcement that the film was in production, updates on Princess Diaries 3 have been few and far between. Last year, we learned that Aele Lim will direct the upcoming film.

“As a diehard fan of the original ‘Princess Diaries,’ I’m beyond excited to be a part of bringing the third iteration of this beloved franchise to life,” Lim told Deadline. “We look forward to celebrating its core tenets of female power, joy, and mentorship with audiences worldwide.”
Now, we finally have another update!
The Production Team Is “Castle Shopping”
According to a new report from the New York Post, Disney has been scouting locations in the Czech Republic to film The Princess Diaries 3.
“Castle shopping,” a source explained to the Post.

The last time the Princess Diaries needed a regal abode, Longford Castle in Wiltshire, England, was chosen. Now, it looks like the franchise is heading east.
The Big Question
The big question surrounding The Princess Diaries 3 is the status of the franchise’s stars. While Anne Hathaway will be returning as Mia Thermopolis, Julie Andrews’ involvement is unclear. The 89-year-old Hollywood legend has largely retired from acting.

Then, there is Chris Prine, who reportedly learned that the third installment in the franchise was in development at the same time as everyone else.

Nevertheless, The Princess Diaries fans have every reason to be excited. Hopefully, we will learn more about the third installment in the franchise soon.
