Another Disney Channel Show Has Been Canceled After Just One Season
With the return of Phineas and Ferb and the broadcast of Pixar’s Win or Lose, Disney Channel is about to get an influx of new content.
Unfortunately, the arrival of the two new series has coincided with the end of another.
According to a new report from TV Line, Disney’s Primos has been cancelled after just one season.

Disney’s ‘Primos’
For those who don’t know, Primos was an animated series created by Natasha Kline and inspired by her multicultural family.
“Set in the fictional Los Angeles neighborhood of Hacienda Hills, Primos follows 9-year-old (later 10-year-old) Tater Ramirez Humphrey, an eccentric Mexican-American girl voiced by Myrna Velasco. Tater plans a summer of self-discovery to find her “it factor” or “final form.” Her plans are disrupted when her mother, Bibi, invites her 12 chaotic cousins to stay for the summer,” the series’s synopsis.

While the series got off to a rough start, cultivating controversy with its first look, the final show was eventually praised for its unique storytelling and imaginative animation.
End of the Line
The series premiered on Disney Channel on July 25, 2024, and concluded its first season on April 27, 2025.

According to TV Line reporter Matt Webb Mitovich, the series will not be renewed for a second season.
“Disney’s coming-of-age animated comedy — about Tater Ramirez Humphrey and the 12 chaotic cousins who move in with her family for the summer — indeed has wrapped production, but all 28 Season 1 episodes can be enjoyed on Disney+,” he wrote.

While fans will be sad that Primos is not returning for a second season, as Mitrovich notes, the show can still be enjoyed on Disney+.
