Pixar’s ‘Win or Lose’ Will Be Broadcast on Disney Channel This Month
Four months after making its debut on Disney+, Pixar’s Win or Lose is heading to Disney Channel.
For those who may not remember, Win or Lose is Pixar’s first original series. After numerous delays, the series finally landed on Disney+ in February, garnering strong reviews from critics and fans alike.
In the series, audiences are introduced to the Pickles, a co-ed middle school softball team, and the events leading up to their championship game. Each episode is told from the perspective of a different player or parent, allowing viewers to see the events through their eyes.

“The series reveals what it actually feels like to be in the shoes of each character — the insecure kids, their helicopter parents, even a lovesick umpire — with incredibly funny, very emotional and uniquely animated perspectives,” Pixar teased.
A Rare Linear Broadcast
In an unusual, though not unprecedented, move, Disney has decided to bring Win or Lose to traditional television.

The Pixar show will premiere Saturday, June 7, at 8 PM ET on Disney Channel. New episodes will air back-to-back every Saturday.
By making the jump to linear television, Win or Lose will join the likes of The Mandalorian, The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, and Monsters at Work as streaming series that have gotten linear air dates.
Interestingly, however, unlike The Mandalorian, WandaVision, Game Changers, and Loki, Disney does not seem to be using the Disney Channel broadcast to advertise Win or Lose‘s streaming debut.

Instead, it looks like they are simply attempting to add more content to Disney Channel, and perhaps introduce Win or Lose to even more viewers.
A New Era?
In recent years, Disney has shown that it no longer views streaming and linear as competing distribution methods but as compatible avenues that can bring content to the most viewers possible.

It will be interesting to see if more streaming series also make the jump to linear.
