We love following all of the adorable animal families at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and they are just too cute!
Recently, we have seen everything from the progress of tiger Bakso to the arrival of new Greater Flamingo chicks to a new Rüppell’s griffon vulture named Lyra that has just been born.
Most recently, we fell in love with the new baby otters that joined Animal Kingdom’s Otter Grotto on Discovery Island. And today, these otters have something special to celebrate!

It’s a double birthday celebration! Proud parents Kevin and Mae both have birthdays this month, and Disney is celebrating.
Animal care expert Kelly takes us behind the scenes to check out this lively otter family and the milestones they’re celebrating.

The otter’s family birthday party includes delicious ice treats filled with some of their favorite fish goodies!
There’s also enrichment fun with a leaf pile with different scents and a pile of clams. The otters have lots of nerve endings in their hands, so they love these tactile experiences.
