Disney Changes Park Reservation Requirements For Annual Passholders in July
If you have been reading along here at MickeyBlog this week, you know things are starting to heat up at Walt Disney World!
With Cool Kid Summer officially underway, all four Disney World theme parks have unveiled new attractions and experiences to ensure that guests have the best summer vacation possible.
To that end, Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After and The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure both opened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and guests can now party with Goofy at EPCOT.
Disney Starlight Is on the Way!
While Magic Kingdom unveiled some Cool Kid Summer festivities of its own yesterday, the big news is that Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away will officially debut on July 20!

When the new procession arrives, it will mark the first time since 2016 that Magic Kingdom has had a dedicated nightly parade. Needless to say, fans are excited!

Unfortunately for Annual Passholders, the arrival of Disney Starlight has necessitated a major change.
Annual Passholders Will be Barred From Magic Kingdom Without a Reservation
Beginning July 20, Annual Passholders will not be able to enter Magic Kingdom without a park pass reservation.

While a reservation was already needed to enter the park before 2PM, Passholders have previously been able to park hop to Magic Kingdom in the afternoon or simply enter the park without a reservation on most days after 2PM.
Now, due to “anticipated high demand,” Passholders will be barred from the park completely if they do not have a reservation.

The good news is that the change will be temporary. If we had to guess, once schools reopen in the fall, Passholders will once again be able to visit Magic Kingdom in the afternoon without a reservation.
