The event gives the resort’s tiniest guests extra-special summer fun, including dance parties, activities, fun character interactions, and more! Cool Kid Summer runs through September 1st, giving everyone plenty of time to experience all the offerings.
Of course, we’re here for the event’s debut, checking out as much as possible. Join us as we venture through Animal Kingdom to find the next Cool Kid Summer offering!
Wilderness Explorers Badge
All cool kids know the wilderness must be explored. And those cool kids can visit Animal Kingdom to earn a new Wilderness Explorers badge!
Cool Kid Summer – Animal Kingdom
To earn this badge, guests must head to the station across from Feathered Friends to participate in nature-focused activities. (The station will move to Upcountry Landing on June 1st.)

The station has three activities that encourage kids to get creative with nature!
Wilderness Explorers can make music with nature, via sticks, rocks, and wood…

…color with the help of crayons and leaves…

…and build with nature blocks–just like you would with LEGOs!

To earn more badges, kids can grab a Wilderness Explorer handbook from the bridge between the Oasis and Discovery Island. (There are also Wilderness Explorer Troop Leader locations in Africa, Rafiki’s Planet Watch, Asia, and Pandora.)
Then, it’s time to explore! The handbook provides self-guided activities, including animal observations and learning wilderness skills. There are 25 badges to earn, along with the extra badge for Cool Kid Summer.
