Bob Iger Asks ‘The View’ Hosts To Turn Down Their Rhetoric
When Bob Iger returned to the helm of The Walt Disney Company in November 2022, the CEO made a concerted effort to remove Disney from the political spotlight.
In an increasingly polarized political climate, Disney has found itself a target for both sides of the aisle. Perhaps most publicly, the company found itself in a public battle with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis over its response to the Parental Rights in Education bill (which critics dubbed “Don’t Say Gay”).
Since his return to Disney, Iger has not only settled the conflict with DeSantis but also continually made it clear that Disney’s top priority is entertainment.

Still, as we have seen over the past couple of weeks, Iger is still willing to engage in the political sphere when he deems it necessary.
Bob Iger and ABC News’ President Ask ‘The Views’ To Tone It Down
Despite Disney’s retreat from the political sphere, the hosts of ABC’s The View have continued to be outspoken in their opposition to President Donald Trump and their support for the Democratic Party.

According to a new report from The Daily Beast, Bob Iger and ABC News President Almin Karamehmedovic have asked The View hosts to moderate their political rhetoric.

Instead, Karamehmedovic suggested that the hosts lean into other topics of conversation. Per the Daily Beast, this was a request, not a demand.
The Hosts Dismissed the Request
Based on what we know, the women of The View dismissed Karamehmedovic’s concerns.

“This is what our audience wants. Isn’t it gonna look kind of bad if we’re all of a sudden not talking about politics?” one source familiar with the meeting reportedly said.
Eventually, host Ana Navarro talked to Iger, who professed his support for the show, while also suggesting that they tone things down.

Despite Disney’s uneasiness, it sounds like it will be business as usual on The View.
