ESPN Ties Their Own Record With 13 Sports Emmy Wins
The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences honored the best in sports media last night, as the 46th Annual Sports Emmy Awards took place in New York City.
Once again, ESPN was the night’s big winner, bringing home 13 Sports Emmys and tying its own record for most wins.

In the 38 years the network has been eligible, ESPN has won 267 Sports Emmy Awards.
ESPN’s Big Winners
Among ESPN’s big winners on Tuesday night was the new SEC on ABC college football series, which won Outstanding Live Series. This marks the first time in 45 years that a college football property has won the award.

Additionally, College GameDay won its 15th Sports Emmy for Outstanding Studio Show – Weekly.
NFL Live also received its first Sports Emmy for Outstanding Studio Show.

In addition to ESPN’s flagship shows, other notable winners included Nick Saban, who won his first Emmy for Outstanding Personality/Emerging On-Air Talent.

Peyton Manning also took home his second Emmy in three years, this time for Outstanding Event Analyst.
A Special Honor
Finally, Mike Breen and Tina Thornton were inducted into the Academy’s Silver Circle Honor Society last night. The exclusive club recognizes individuals for their 25 years of distinguished service within the television industry, setting standards for achievement, mentoring, leadership, and professional accolades.
