Walt Disney World Wait Times for the Second Week of May 2025
Well, here we are. It’s the calm before the storm…and those are thunderclouds you’ll notice in the distance.
Memorial Day arrives on May 26th, which means that Walt Disney World crowds should surge later this week.

Typically, crowds start to tick up around this time of the year, but next week signals the changing of the guard.
Once Memorial Day arrives, we’ve unofficially entered the summer theme park season.

That’s the time when business is good everywhere, even Six Flags! But we’re not there just yet.
So, let’s check Walt Disney World’s wait times for the second week of May 2025.

Cosmic Rewind
These should be the lowest numbers we track for a while, even if they’re not very low.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom
As I mentioned last week, nothing else will change at Animal Kingdom through the rest of 2025.
All the attractions that Disney plans to close this year have already closed.

So, the way the park behaves right now represents the general blueprint for what you can expect throughout the year.
Keeping that in mind, here are the average wait times at Animal Kingdom last week:

Flight of Passage
- Avatar Flight of Passage – 66 minutes, down 4
- Na’vi River Journey – 59 minutes, no change
- Adventurers Outpost – 34 minutes, down 3
- Expedition Everest – 34 minutes, down 4
- Kilimanjaro Safaris – 34 minutes, down 6
- Kali River Rapids – 33 minutes, down 7
- DINOSAUR – 23 minutes, down 6

Overall, guests waited for an average of 40 minutes per attraction, although you can tell that Pandora – The World of Avatar skews the curve.
Everything else at the park enjoyed a modest wait of 34 minutes or less, which is VERY reasonable. It’s also five minutes less than last time.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Disney
Consider this your final warning about Muppet*Vision 3D. Okay, it’s probably not, but time is growing short for one of the park’s classic attractions.
On June 7th, 2025, the Jim Henson mini-movie will close permanently, at least in its current location.

Disney has indicated that it has stored the footage, hinting that we may see it again, albeit not necessarily at the parks.
If the Apple Vision Pro weren’t a debacle, that would have been the ideal format for the show.

Overall, Hollywood studios park guests spent an average of 36 minutes standing in line per attraction, which is two minutes less than last time.
So, we’re definitely trending down this week, which isn’t unusual for this time of year.
EPCOT

At my favorite park, we just learned that the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival will arrive in late August.
So, we’ll have that summer festival gap for the second straight year, and I presume that’s just the plan from now on.

Disney will primarily swap in Cool Kid Summer amenities instead, which should be fascinating to watch.
Otherwise, everything should work as usual at the parks from now until Test Track 3.0 opens. And here are the park’s average wait times last week:

- Frozen Ever After – 56 minutes, down 4

Final Thoughts

Photo: Disney
Overall, Magic Kingdom attractions required an average wait of 26 minutes, which is two minutes less than last time.
So, the parks declined slightly from the first to the second week of May.
As I stated, we should experience an uptick this week, especially over the weekend.

Then, we’ll track what happens during June, which has become Walt Disney World’s most trafficked month. The behavior is a bit odd, though.
The first two weeks shouldn’t be as heavily trafficked as the second half of the month.
