Bob Iger Visited Donald Trump at the White House; Discussed Abu Dhabi Plans
Since Bob Iger returned to the helm of The Walt Disney Company, he has done his best to navigate the always treacherous political waters and keep Disney out of the limelight.
To that end, the Disney CEO negotiated a deal with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis that ended months of acrimony. Additionally, Iger has made it clear that Disney’s top priority is entertainment.

Nevertheless, when he felt it necessary, Iger has shown a willingness to engage in conversations that could be political. After all, the man was once seriously considering running for President!

Recently, Disney’s decision to partner with Miral to construct a new park in Abu Dhabi has generated scorn from some sectors of the political spectrum. Others, however, have praised the deal.

As it turns out, President Donald Trump is in the latter camp.

Wrapping up his trip to the Middle East, Trump stopped in Abu Dhabi today. There, he discussed the American companies that have ingratiated themselves with the United Arab Emirates.

Those companies include Disney.
“Disney – I see their new theme park is going to be incredible. Bob Iger was in my office the other day and he was showing it to me and it’s going to be incredible.”
A Notable Shift
The revelation that Iger visited President Trump at the White House is particularly interesting, as relations between the two have not always been warm. Trump has previously criticized Iger and Disney on numerous occasions, even suing ABC for defamation. Eventually, the two sides settled the case.

Nevertheless, the President went out of his way to acknowledge Iger and Disney. Perhaps a thawing of relations is taking place before our eyes.
