What Will Disney Be Like in October 2025?
How popular has Halloween become in our society?
Nobody wants to wait until October to celebrate. So, we’ve invented Halfway to Halloween as a way to pass the time.
Well, we’re thankfully more than halfway to the spooky season now, and it’s time to get serious about a holiday vacation.
What will Walt Disney World be like in October? It’ll be a party for the ages that you don’t want to miss. Read on to learn more…
Visiting Disney in October

I’m telling you right now that *I* am visiting Walt Disney World in October, which should be a strong sign of what I think about vacationing then.
Why have I booked a trip then? Simply stated, October has evolved into my favorite time to visit Orlando each year.
The weather cools down enough that it’s perfectly manageable, but since you’re in Central Florida, it’s rarely chilly.
While the crowds are larger than they were just a decade ago, October isn’t really the busy season, either.

Many would-be tourists must stay home since their kids are in school. Meanwhile, many others would rather watch football instead.
The end result is that despite several unique events that should draw a crowd, the parks are generally quite reasonable.

As for those unique events, we’ll discuss both in detail in a bit, but you should know them just by their names.
One is Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and the other is the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival.

You can attend both during an October visit, which is plenty enough reason to start booking a trip now…like I already have.
How’s the Weather?

Here’s another reason why an October visit represents the best time to vacation in Orlando. The weather is perfect.
Gone are the scorching summer days that toast everyone in the south for several consecutive months.
The average high temperature in Orlando in October ranges from 74 to 90 degrees, but the average is a modest 80 degrees.
Basically, you should expect mid- to upper-70s temperatures throughout the day, with the weather turning only slightly colder at night.
The average low temperature in Orlando in October ranges from 55 to 76 degrees.
So, while some folks are already fearing early snowflakes at this time of year, Orlando’s rarely even brisk enough to require a jacket.
Don’t get me wrong. You’ll probably want to wear a jacket because you want to look stylish in the fall, and Disney sells the best autumn merchandise.
You just won’t need it for the most part. In fact, you probably won’t even need anything for rainy weather either.
October has steadily held as one of the driest months in Central Florida, with the odds of rain only 40 percent on October 1st and then sliding quickly.
By October 21st, there’s only a 25 percent chance of rain based on historical averages in the region.
So, that escapist fantasy you have about leaving chilly weather and spending a week in Florida is justified by all the supporting weather data.
You should be warm, dry, and happy throughout your vacation, especially because there’s so much to do…
What Can You Do at Disney in October?

For my money, there’s no event at Disney that’s better than Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP).
A couple of years ago, we had a MickeyBlog debate about Halloween versus Christmas parties, and it could have easily devolved into a knife fight.

We’re all that passionate about Disney’s after-hours holiday parties, all of which are spectacular.
Still, I favor MNSSHP for any number of reasons. Let’s start with the free candy, which is limitless and ubiquitous.

Disney hosts all sorts of stations where Cast Members will happily throw you entire fistfuls of candy.
Also, Disney hosts several unique character greetings, some of which include rarely seen characters. And Mickey and Minnie Mouse will jointly greet guests this year!
This party also features some ride overlays for popular attractions like Space Mountain and Mad Tea Party. It’s incredible.
Of course, MNSSHP is a paid after-hours event. If you have regular admission, you may prefer the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival instead.

2024 Food & Wine Festival
While EPCOT hosts four annual festivals, Food & Wine is the most iconic of the bunch.
Tourists flock to Orlando to sample all the new foods and beverages available here, and Disney has promised more than 35 Global Marketplaces for 2025!

The Eat to the Beat concert series will also return, as will the accompanying dining packages.
Please understand that the Halloween Party events AND the Eat to the Beat concerts often sell out.

What Else Can You Do in Central Florida?

There’s a new theme park in Orlando. Maybe you’ve heard.
Oh, who am I kidding? There are people who have never read the internet who are familiar with Universal Epic Universe.

Disney vs Epic Universe
This is the first Universal Studios theme park that genuinely qualifies as Disney-like, which makes it worth your time.
The catch is that to visit this park, you must leave the friendly confines of the Disney Bubble, which you may not want to do.

Of course, if you are willing to expand your horizons a bit, you’ll discover plenty more to do in Florida.
College football has grown wildly popular thanks to the University of Central Florida. Plus, you can take the Brightline to watch Miami or Florida instead.

The Sunshine State also hosts two NFL teams, both of which will have home games in October. So, that could make for a fun day of football and tailgating.
You can also attend several concerts and even a Broadway performance of The Wiz in October if so inclined. There’s always something to do here.
Personally, the only concerts I’ll attend are at Eat to the Beat, though.
Final Thoughts

What will Disney be like in October? Well, I’m voting with my wallet on this one.
I cannot wait to attend this year’s Halloween party, and I’m hungrily eyeballing the menus for the Food & Wine Festival as well.
The combination of these events and the perfect Fall weather give me plenty of good reasons to spend Halloween at Walt Disney World.
